The enchanting Engadine
Pontresina is a picturesque village in the Upper Engandine valley, only 6km from St. Moritz, in the Canton of Graubünden. It has maintained all the charm of the old Engadine villages but still exudes youth and vitality, especially during winter when you encounter the young snowboarders on the slopes. And snowboarding is just one of many sporting opportunities on offer in Pontresina - with the ski lifts of Lagalb and Diavolezza close by, a ski school for children and adults, and beautiful cross-country skiing trails. You might also wish to take a romantic carriage ride in the enchanting Val Roseg and experience the diversionary pleasures of the lanes and pathways in the invigorating, fresh mountain air.

A ski area without equal
The ski region of the Upper Engadine is without equal: 58 fast, modern ski lifts cover 350 km of prepared trails that offer a vast choice of descent for all levels of ability. For cross-country skiers 180 km of trails criss-cross the countryside of the Upper Engadine and the adjoining romantic valleys of Fex, Roseg and Bever. Pontresina has a first class ski school providing lessons for both groups and individuals, as well as many children's activities. Other skiing facilities include, heli-skiing in the high mountains and on the glaciers, and a halfpipe for snowboarders.

ENTERTAINMENT
Family and children
The Birba Club, for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years, provides sporting activities and games geared to suit the different ages. NEW 2007: 350 square meters all dedicated to the children's world... and for them it's available the "BIRBA MOUNTAIN 2007" a new entertainment programm where they can enjoy themselves playng and at the "BIRBA MOUNTAIN SCHOOL" discovering the pleasure of the ski attending the lessons of the Pontresina ski school 4 hours a day (service on payment and by booking).
Entertainment
A friendly and attentive team is on hand and at your complete disposal, to meet your recreational needs. They can accompany whoever wants to ski and whoever wishes to remain at the hotel, for entertainment, games, competitions and tournaments, walking in the snow or shopping. To complete your pleasure each day, there are evening shows and music at the piano bar, and games in the splendid theatre.

How to get there
By car from Milan take the Lecco direction, then Chiavenna, across the Maloia pass and descend into the Engadine valley to Pontresina.
By train from Milan to Tirano, then take the Bernina Express.
